Chances are, you’re already a big fan of our Sisal Soap Saver Bag – or it’s about to become your new favorite product. But you may have been wondering: what is sisal? Let’s get into it.
Sisal is a natural fiber harvested from the agave plant. That’s right: it’s made of the same stuff that goes into your agave syrup, tequila, even soaps and hair treatments. Agave is a pretty incredible plant. This fiber is often used for rope and twine, as well as paper goods and textiles.
We chose to use sisal for our Soap Saver Bag due to its durability, sustainability, and antimicrobial features. Sisal is produced without any harsh chemicals and lasts a long time. It is also naturally antimicrobial, making it the perfect home for your soap and shampoo bars!
At The Earthling Co., we use sisal for our Soap Saver Bag. These little bags really pack a punch in everything they do!
The texture of sisal helps work up a lather on our soaps and shampoo and conditioner bars while also helping to extend the life of the bars. While lather isn’t necessary to get a good wash, it does help to spread the product on your skin or scalp and distribute more evenly.
The bag can be used directly on your scalp with a shampoo bar or skin with a soap bar for exfoliation, or you can use it in your hands to work up a lather. While it is exfoliating, sisal is still soft to the touch and should not irritate your skin. The texture also helps prevent the product from slipping out of your hands!
The Soap Saver Bag is also great for shampoo or soap bars nearing the end of their lives. You can toss the remaining pieces in the bag to produce a lather until it runs out. Sisal dries quickly, helping to keep your bars in good condition. It is also very durable. To clean your soap bag, you can machine wash and then air dry it, or you can also sanitize by boiling it for a few minutes in hot water.
Ready to experience the power of the Sisal Soap Saver Bag? Give it a try with your favorite shampoo, conditioner, and/or soap bar to experience the luxurious lather effect and long-lasting bar preservation!
