2. Knead
Stretch and fold the dough a few times until itās smoother and elastic. Place seam side down in a buttered bowl. Cover and let rise at room temperature until doubled (8ā10 hours depending on kitchen temperature).
3. Prepare Sticky Topping
While the dough rises, melt butter, honey, brown sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Stir until smooth. Pour into a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan and sprinkle pecans over the top.
4. Roll & Fill
Once dough has doubled, punch it down and roll into a 12x12-inch square. Spread with softened butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, then cut into 16 squares.
5. Assemble
Stack dough squares upright in the loaf pan over the sticky pecans. Sprinkle any extra sugar mixture on top. Cover and let rise again until puffy (about 3ā4 hours, longer if your kitchen is cool).
6. Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake 80ā90 minutes, until golden and the center reaches 190ā200°F. If the top browns too fast, cover with foil. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before flipping onto a serving plate.
