When it comes time for a refill, here is our guide for swapping products to ensure everything remains clean and sanitary. It is not just important to make sure the already-used pieces are clean, but also to ensure they are completely dry before placing them in the new refills. Any leftover moisture could lead to bacteria, so it’s important to follow these steps to avoid any spoiled products.

How to Refill Your Skincare Products

1. Your refill will arrive in the same amber glass bottle as your original product with an aluminum cap. You can recycle the original bottle but should keep the wiper (plastic insert in the original bottle) and the top, whether it’s a dropper or a pump. You will continue to use the original top with the new refill bottle.
2. Before putting the dropper or pump top on your refill, you’ll want to sanitize it. We recommend sanitizing by soaking it in warm, soapy water.
3. Disassemble the top by removing the glass pipette from the dropper or the straw from the pump and place all pieces in the water for a few hours.
4. Remove pieces from the soak and let dry completely.
5. Once dry, rinse each piece with rubbing alcohol. The alcohol will dry quickly, ensuring each piece is dry and sanitized for use. You can then reassemble the top and place it in the new bottle.

There are other ways to sanitize your items, like boiling. We recommend only boiling glass pieces, as other materials may melt. If you choose to boil a glass bottle, place the bottle in the water when it is still cool so that it gradually heats up. Placing a glass bottle in boiling water may cause it to break.
